Pulse Shower Spa Review [ 5 Reasons Why I Like It ]

The Pulse Shower Spa has a more minimal design compared to most other shower panels. However, it still features the 3 great spa functions such as the rainfall shower head, jets and multi-function shower sprayer.

Pulse Shower Spa

What I Like About the Pulse Shower Spa and How it Can Save You Money:

1. If you like the look of exposed pipes, the Pulse has it’s own unique industrial style that you’ll probably appreciate.

2. In addition, the smaller size makes it work better in small shower stalls because it doesn’t overwhelm the space.

3. Just like wall shower panels, most of the plumbing for this unit runs outside the wall. Plus the shower spa comes pre-plumbed. Therefore, installation requires less time, money and effort.

4. Not to mention, you can enjoy a rain shower in your own bathroom without having to cut into the ceiling. I personally love this concept.

I mean, if you want to remodel an old shower on a limited budget, this shower spa gives you a simple way to do it. Aside from the fact that you can enjoy it everyday. =)

In many cases, you don’t have to tear open the wall to replace your current showerhead and valve with a shower spa. Instead, you can simply reconnect the new system to the existing water supply lines and valve in the wall.

5. In fact, many handy homeowners take on this DIY home improvement project themselves. See the installation instruction guide below.

Pulse Psa Shower Head

Note: Unlike most shower panels, however, the shower arm of the Lanikai Pulse pivots.

Therefore, you can move the rainshower head from side to side.

In addition, you can raise or lower the handheld shower wand and get more versatility and customization with this model.

How to Use the Pulse Lanikai Shower Spa:

Pulse Shower Spa Features: Swiveling Rainshower, Adjust Body Jet Direction, Raise or Lower Handheld WandThe diverter valve at the base of the unit controls the shower head, handheld sprayer and body jet functions. Simply turn it to the left of right.

To adjust the spray function on the handheld wand, just rotate the sprayer head. You can similarly twist the body jets to change the water output from a straight soothing spray to more of a stimulating massage.

In addition, the angle of the handheld sprayer and the jets can be moved in many different directions.

Furthermore, you can adjust the handheld shower wand by pressing the button on the wand holder. You will feel that you can then slide it up or down.

Note: Similar to other multi-function spa showers, each spray function on the Pulse operates separately. In other words, you can’t use the handheld wand and rainshower or body jets simultaneously.

This preserves adequate water pressure. Not to mention, prevent you from exploding your water bill. =)

Tips for Cleaning the Pulse

Pulse Spa Shower JetAnother reason I like the Pulse is that it is designed for easy cleaning.

For example, the 8″ rain showerhead has soft spray tips that you can simply rub clean with your fingertip. This literally takes only seconds, and it prevents mineral buildup so your shower continues to work like new.

To keep the finish looking new, the manufacturer recommends using a mild soap or water and a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners, because they can damage the finish.

Use a Microfiber Cloth to Quickly Clean Your Pulse Shower Spa and Prevent Water SpotsTo prevent water spots from developing, I use a microfiber towel after each use. Besides preventing the water spots, doing this quick step eliminates the job of cleaning. Therefore, I think it’s worth doing.

The microfiber material works really well at quickly absorbing water. Plus, it doesn’t leave lint or streaks behind.

Note: To keep your microfiber clothes lint-free, make sure you (1) wash them separately from other fabrics, (2) don’t put the in the dryer and (3) don’t use fabric softener.

How to Install the Pulse Shower Spa:

As you can see in the diagram below, the shower unit comes with a built-in water connector. Just connect the hot and cold water lines.

Most homes have their showerhead installed in a standard location. This makes it extremely simple to hook up your new spa shower. At first glance, it appears to be more more complicated than it actually is. See what I mean?

Note: If you are doing a new build, you will need to purchase a standard rough-in valve. This unit does not include one.

Pulse Shower Spas cost about the same as other shower massage panels. In addition to providing a relaxing (or stimulating) home spa experience, they give you a way to remodel your shower for cheap.

I mean, you probably didn’t think you could transform your old shower into a stand up shower massage spa for under $300, right?
